Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski, his crew chief Paul Wolfe and the Penske team have all been penalised after his car failed a post-race technical inspection after last weekend’s race at Dover.
The car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR that equipment used in a race does not conform to the rules), 20-12.8.1B, (minimum front car height) and 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) of the series’ regulations.
Keselowski and team owner Roger Penske have been docked six driver and owner points respectively, while Wolfe has been fined $25,000 and will remain on probation until December 31.
The penalty drops Keselowski from eighth to tenth in the standings.
It is the second time Keselowski and his team have been penalised this year, after his car was found to violate the regulations following the race at the Texas Motor Speedway.
