GP3 race stewards have banished third-placed qualifier Nick Yelloly and 13th-placed Lewis Williamson to the back of the Valencia grid after their cars were found to have technical irregularities.
Yelloly’s Carlin machine was ruled not to comply with the specified dimensions after qualifying, which was a breach of article 4.1 of the series’ technical regulations.

Stewards also found that Williamson’s Bamboo Engineering car did not comply with the high roll back caliper seals, which is a breach of article 1.6 of the technical rules.
ART’s Facu Regalia has been promoted to third place for race one on Sunday morning, with points leader Tio Ellinas now up to sixth.
