Conway secures Toronto, Detroit drives

Conway secures Toronto, Detroit drivesDetroit IndyCar race winner Mike Conway will rejoin Dale Coyne’s team for the Toronto and Houston street events.

Coyne had always hoped that Conway could be brought back in for the two remaining double-header rounds of the calendar, and the deal was confirmed on Monday.

Conway will line up alongside Coyne regular Justin Wilson in the car also driven by Pippa Mann and Ana Beatriz this season.

“Hopefully we will pick up from where we left off in Detroit,” said Conway.

“Toronto is one of my favourite circuits so there is no reason why we can’t do well there.

“Houston will be new to a lot of people, however Dale Coyne and my team-mate Justin raced there in Champ Car so I am hoping to get some good feedback from them.

“They should both be really good weekends and I want to thank Dale for giving me another chance to be a part of it.”

The 29-year-old Briton ended his full-time IndyCar career when he decided he no longer wanted to race on ovals at the end of last season.

Conway now dovetails his occasional IndyCar duties with racing for the Delta-ADR LMP2 programme in the World Endurance Championship.
